What’s Your Werewolf Name? The Quiz That Created a Legend

Name generators were everywhere on the 2013 internet: your hobbit name, your pirate name, your vampire name. They were meant to be throwaway fun. One of them accidentally created a legend.

How the original worked

The werewolf chart used your first initial to pick the first half of your name and your last initial to pick the second half. Put them together and you got something like “Shadow Fang” or “Silver Howl.” Majestic. Dangerous. Unless your letters combined into Moon Moon, which is neither.

That accidental repetition is the whole joke. Every other name sounds like a fearsome hunter. Moon Moon sounds like a wolf who fell asleep during the name ceremony.
