Moon Moon was born on Tumblr in early April 2013. So every year, April 5 is Moon Moon Day — the pack’s birthday party. Expect the biggest meme contest of the year, special giveaways and a lot of cake emojis.

Why rituals matter

Communities that last have rhythms. Weekly contests, monthly events, an annual birthday. They give people a reason to come back when the chart is boring — and a meme coin with a real calendar has a real culture. The moon provides a free, never-ending event schedule. We’d be silly not to use it.
